Fun Fats Episode #3: Botanica & Co

Image
How did I end up having 3 episodes of Fun Fats in a row?! I guess that says alot about my priorities...   Last weekend I met up with Clarisse, my ride or die/ deskmates since high school as she came back from London. We decided on trying out Botanica & Co to see what is the hype all about!     Entrance to the restaurant     The Bar Table which was recommended by users on Zomato as the best seat. Didn't sit here though!   Homemade Muesli (RM21) We were doing brunch so Muesli feels just right! Drizzled with honey and a dollop of greek yoghurt, this bowl of goodness just opens up our taste buds for more. I love the generous amount and variety of nuts and the berry compote which is hidden in the middle of the muesli bowl. It may look small but it was VERY filling. We were only about half way through but we had to move on to the burger because we were both getting full. It took us sooo long to deci...

Fun Fats Episode #2 - Fuzio Bar & Ristorante

Image
On this episode of Fun Fats, me and my mum decided to doll up and get to the city centre for a girls night out. Everyone in the family has severe fear of choosing what to eat, we decided to narrow down to Italian cuisine and use the Zomato app to hunt down a few Italian restaurants for us. We ended up choosing Fuzio among the rest because it had one of the highest ratings!   Once we stepped in, I was instantly impressed because you can feel a really cozy ambience as the restaurant was thoughtfully decorated. There were candles and wine glasses on each table and classic oldies playing which made it look as if we were stepping into a bar in Paris.      Although there were only 2 of us and neither did we order any fancy main course, they were no where stingy with the appetizer. After our order was taken, the friendly waiter quickly sent a tray of complimentary warm, fresh housemade breads our way. There were Italian Grissini Breadst...

Fun Fats Episode #1 - KaiJu @ Bangsar

Image
Welcome to the very first episode of #FunFats! ( Yes, it is a homonym for Fun Facts, ain't I funny?) As a person who has an undying passion for food, I sure take what I put in my mouth very seriously. If you take a look at my monthly spendings you will be surprised that I spend about 80% of my money on food and only about 20% on shopping. Priorities, right? So from here on, I will be introducing you guys some of my favorite restaurants, new food trends or even some of the recipes I use!   It's gonne be you, me and fats.   Disclaimer : I am naturally biased towards Japanese food. Very, very biased.     So for the last weekend, I paid a visit to Kaiju Company @APW Bangsar which is a japanese and thai fusion restaurant. I found out about Kaiju via some random people on Instagram Explore when I was just stalking people (guilty). The presentation looked impeccable and I loved the interior design of the place so I decided to check it out to see i...

Sweater Weather

Image
Living in a tropical country, a sweater could be the most impractical number to own in one's wardrobe. But yours truly here is a big sucker for thick, knitted and oversized sweaters PLUS a hoarder so you can imagine how many sweaters I have collected over the years. Pearl white, beige white, beige, all kinds of texture and colors but the only place I could wear them was my campus library. So since I will not be wearing it often, I had to go for a more subtle and versatile color tone so I can get the maximum wear out of it. This sweetest shade of lilac makes the perfect addition to my wardrobe. You would think that lilac is hard to pull off, but it goes so well with denim doesn't it? I would so wear them with some black leather skirt as well.  And I am so digging the whole embroidery jeans trend! They speak so much for an outfit in the easiest way. You can find a similar one from She In here and here  which are both gorgeous.  I also jumped on the Mule Loa...

1 Outfit 3 Ways

Image
Some of you may know that I started Ootd Inspirations by making outfit combination to inspire people how they can turn their boring outfits around. So I went back to my roots and put together 3 simple ways to change up a basic outfit you can easily find in your wardobe! First, you will need the base. I picked this grey Satin top from Atmosphere for a more glam up look but you can definitely opt for a basic white button down! Then I just picked up my favorite pair of ripped jeans for a more defined and chic "Friday night look". The best thing about these 3 outfits is they would go well with just any pair of your favorite denim ( you may even go for shorts!). I wore these 100% comfortable and chic chunky heels from ChristyNg which I am officially obessed with because the chunky heels give so much support to my feet and the soles made it even better. I chose this earthy Khaki color because it almost matches any color so I can wear them so many ways. So stop reach...

My 2017 Valentines Present

Image
For many couples, Valentines is all about roses, candle light dinner and grand romantic gestures. But for my boyf, it has always been about being practical so he planned for a short getaway to our neighbouring states which I really enjoyed so much! Our 4 days 3 nights trip started from the North in Penang. The 4 hours drive completely drained us although I was pretty much only in charge of taking "accidental" naps while the boyf did all the driving 😜 I was really looking forward to cafe hopping in Penang because I have seen so many of their scenic cafes on Instagram and they left me in awe! So our first stop was the iconic China House which takes pride as the longest cafe in Penang. I have never came across a concept cafe like this one with cakes, coffee, art gallery, mexican food annnd live band performance at night! I managed to take a few shots in different parts of China House and ended up trying their cakes which smelled and looked so good I swear.   ...
